Mount Hood SUP Day Retreat
Laurance Lake, Oregon
Spend a day on the water with views of Mount Hood! Start with a 2 1/2 hour SUP technique class taught by our ACA paddle expert, followed by a BYO lunch, and then an afternoon 90-minute SUP yoga class in which you will transition at your own pace from easy postures to postures that require more balance. At the end of the day, try out your new moves during play time on the water!
10:00am: Arrive at Lake
10ish-12:30pm - Morning SUP Technique Class: Learn essential paddle strokes, maneuvers, and proper stances with an emphasis on good body mechanics and fun. This class will provide the fundamentals to paddle boarding and/or refine your current paddling skills. Learn new tricks as you push your skills to a new level! The class is custom tailored to our students' skill level and needs.
12:30pm-2:00pm-Lunch and playtime
2:15pm-3:45pm - SUP Yoga Class: Following lunch and playtime, enjoy a 90-minute, all-level yoga class on a SUP board. Soak up the Pacific Northwest sunshine and blue skies while our experienced SUP yoga teacher guides you in a flow on water. Enjoy the sound of water lapping against your board as you begin in meditation. Find your balance by arising into postures on hands and knees and then awaken your core muscles by slowly transitioning into standing postures. Seal your practice by returning to where you began, in a lovely meditation. This class will challenge you by adding new dynamics with balance. No experience is necessary. All levels are welcome.
3:45pm-4:30pm - Playtime: Practice your new poses on water after class. If you would like to get your photo taken on the SUP board by our SUP yoga team member. One photo is included as long as you tag us!
*Participants must be 18 years of age & have adequate swimming abilities.
