Kaitlyn Morse, alameda yoga studio teacher
Kaitlyn started her yoga journey when she was living in the Florida Keys. She was too scared to go to a group class, fearful that she would have no idea what to do, so she started with private lessons. After a few lessons, her teacher urged her to come to class at the studio, and that's where the journey really began.
Although she was a nervous wreck in savasana for the first few months, it didn't take her long to fall in love with the practice. With consistent practice, she noticed a huge shift in herself. It was like this person who was inside all along, hiding behind the walls of past experiences was finally ready to be free and let loose in the world. The power of this practice has been life changing for Kaitlyn and she is humbled to be able to share this journey with her students and teachers alike.
Kaitlyn will forever be a student of yoga and is currently working on her 300 hr Ayurvedic/Yoga practitioner certification, which she is excited to bring into her classes. Simple put Ayurveda is a system of medicine based on the idea of balance in the body using diet, herbal treatment, and yoga.
She likes to start her classes off at a slow, grounded place and works into building heat gradually. Her classes are moderately flowy, sprinkled with fun transitions and are modified for all levels! She likes to challenge her students to try new poses and get out of their comfort zones if and only if they feel ready. This leaves them open and vulnerable to new situations on and off the mat. Kaitlyn always ends class with lengthy savasana, which is now her favorite asana.
