LAuren Fields, owner & Expert teacher
Lauren is the proud owner of the Alameda Yoga Studio and Yoga to You in Portland, Oregon.
Lauren participated in her first 200-hour training in 2005 at the Yandara Yoga Institute with Victor Oppenheimer in Baja, Mexico. In 2010, she completed her second 200-hour training through the Lotus Seed School. Lauren expanded her practice and completed the Bliss Paddle Yoga Teacher Training in 2015. Most recently, Lauren has begun her Advanced Teacher Training with Yoga Medicine and has gained 25 hours in the specialty practice of Hip Immersion with Tiffany Cruikshank. Lauren is trained in Hatha, Vinyasa, Iyengar Foundations, and Yoga Medicine. During the past 4,000 hours of teaching individuals ranging from childhood to octogenarians, Lauren has been continually inspired to learn more about the anatomy of the body, increase her knowledge about how stress of the workplace impacts the muscles and flexibility, and teach helpful positions that will improve the overall well-being of her students. Lauren is a certified Stand-Up Paddle Board (SUP) Yoga teacher and has partnered with a well-known local outdoor company, Next Adventure, to teach SUP yoga classes in Oregon and Washington.
Lauren is proudly registered as an E-RYT 200 and a Continuing Education Provider through Yoga Alliance, an internationally renowned professional yoga association.
ANNA KIDNEY, expert teacher
As an Oregon native and certified yoga instructor, Anna brings her passion for nature to the mat. Fresh out of RYT-200 with Yandara in Baja, Mexico, Anna finds her passion for teaching people of all ages and levels. Anna's focus is derived from the understanding that all bodies and life experiences are unique. Bringing compassion and humor to the practice, Anna believes if you aren't having fun, then you aren't doing it right. Her down to earth spirit and loves for the outdoors also manifests as working in archaeology and wild land firefighting.
EMMA PATRICk, expert teacher
Emma completed her 200 RYT Vinyasa yoga training with Zen Spot certifying her through Yoga Alliance. She has also completed a Trauma-Informed Yoga training though Living Yoga. She loves connecting to the breath and delving within as a base for her own practice. Emma is passionately dedicated to serving others and using yoga as a tool for reflection, growth, and change. Her love for supporting others and discovering their own beauty and strength is found on and off of the mat. She is currently studying to obtain a Masters degree in Social Work.
Raven Cashen, Yoga instructor
Raven Cashen believes in sparks--inner knowings, intuitive draws and the soundless voice that leads us closer to our truths. In 2014, a spark for yoga led Raven to pursue a dedicated personal practice while living in the San Juan Islands. There she came into contact with dedicated practitioners from the Forrest Yoga and Prajna Yoga lineages. The many, healing subtle and physical body breakthroughs that occurred during this time inspired Raven to enroll in the 8 Limbs Yoga Centers 200 HR Teacher Training in Seattle, WA. Over the course of 9 months, the faculty of 8 Limbs safely guided Raven through recovery from a yoga related low-back injury while illuminating her passion for anatomically informed sequencing, modifications and adjustments. Personal experience with yoga as a healing modality for physical, emotional and mental health deeply informs the intention of Raven’s teaching style.
Since becoming a 200 HR RYT, Raven has continued education through additional training in Trauma Informed Yoga with local Portland non-profit Living Yoga, attended yoga retreats both nationally and internationally, as well as studio teaching. Raven’s classes meld meditation, pranayama and alignment based asana practice.
Katie Mauritz, Yoga instructor
Katie completed a Hatha and Vinyasa RYT-200 through Yogacara Global in September 2016. She has worked with children as a nanny, instructional assistant, and teacher’s aide, and has incorporated teaching yoga in these scenarios as a fun way to get a movement break between learning. She is currently obtaining her Master’s in Elementary Education from Portland State University and begins student teaching in the fall. As a future elementary school teacher, she plans to teach students yoga and mindfulness techniques as learning tools. Not just limited to children, Katie enjoys teaching groups of all ages! She plans to continue learning and deepening her yoga practice throughout her life.
Kristen mccormick, Program manager
Kristen has lived in Portland since 2011 and in Oregon since 2005. She has been practicing yoga for 12 years and loves kicking up to a handstand in random places. She loves hiking in the Pacific Northwest, kickboxing at her local PDX gym, traveling the world, and snuggling her black lab. Along with planning events and promoting Yoga to You PDX, Kristen works as a child and family therapist for a non-profit organization in Portland, Oregon.
